Mission

The mission of the BEO is to stimulate the organic movement by uniting and strengthening the organic sub-sector of distributors and processors in Europe to realise on going harmonisation of the EU Regulation for organic agriculture and products and on going harmonisation of certification and control practice in the EU, for the creation of a level playing field wherein the organic processing and distribution can progress in quality and quantity. It is the aim of BEO to give a substantial support toward the understanding of the special quality and the consumption of organic foods in the European community for a better live of individuals and the coming generations.

BEO works on his mission in the following ways:

• participation in the development and the evolution of the EU Regulation of organic agriculture and food;
• being a permanent speaker and counterpart of the European administrations and institutions about processing and distribution of organic products
• being a permanent speaker and counterpart of the EU certification and control bodies and IFOAM/IOAS about harmonisation of certification and control in all EU countries;
• to initialize and manage studies and work-shops on organic products and their market;
• to collect and distribute to its members all the information about the EU Regulation of organic agriculture, market studies, ...;
• to defend the common interest of our members.
